Happy Valentine’s Day Moms (and Dads too)!

Published by tarchris at 2:52 pm under Reflections on Life Edit This

Today I thank all mothers for all that you do for your families. Since there are some men who act in the capacity of mother this blessing if for you also. All of you work twenty four seven to coordinate as well as facilitate all of your family’s activities. Your day probably begins on roller-skates because you skate through the morning as you get the kids up, fed, dressed and out of the door in time for school. You may even have more than one school to drop the kids. There are days when the little critters just want to stay with you and the other baby if there is one at home. You finally get them on their way and now to probably dash home to get yourself dressed to meet your 10:00 o clock client in your home office. You asked a sitter to help you today but you have a message that your relative who was going to help you has a cold and can’t come to work. You have to fling it with the baby and your client, no problem you have done it before. The meeting goes well and you got the project which means working late nights.

It’s almost lunch and you sit down for a ten minute break when the phone rings and it’s your daughter who is in tears because she left her home work. So much for the break it’s off to her school to give her the work that she left at home. You just remembered that you did not eat so you grab yourself a kid’s meal on the way home from the school. You feed the baby and he goes to sleep; good, now you can get some work done. You work for two and one half hour and it’s time to make a mad dash to pick up the kids. You are exhausted and you wonder why this is so.

The kids are excited to see you as well as about their day and you share in the joy and think this is what makes it all right. You get home and realize that you have a deadline that you must meet for a client. So you feed the kids a snacks, put on a one pot meal in the crock pot, start the kids with home work and you and baby go to office a complete your work for the client that is due in thirty minutes. Your mate calls and they’ll be home at 6:00 PM and you chat a bit with them and get back to the project and finish it in the niche of time. You check with kids and look over work, finish the meal and when the other one arrives you eat as a family, clean up mess, get kids bathed and ready for bed then you turn them over to your mate to finish home work, play with them and put them to bed.

You go get a shower and begin to relax when the baby realizes that you are gone and find you. After the kids go to sleep you and your mate get together to discuss your day, other important issues and maybe some private time. It’s 11:00 pm and you finally get to sleep and within minutes it seems the clock sounds and the mad dash starts all over again. You realize that your work is never done just like this story (SMILE).
