We are all very concerned with our cash during this economic period. We should be because our President and President Elect just came on national tv to tell us that times re bad and may be getting worse.

I don’t get all bent out off shape about htis. I just keep telling myself that hte economy is on itsway up and keep doing what I need to do to keep my family and me afloat. All ofthis hype about the exonomy doesn’t help the situaiton at all. I jsut want those in power to do what they need to ddoto get us in good economical place.

As far as I’m concerned this gives “too much infomraiton!” I just want to know what are they dont about hte istuaiton and I will, in turn, keep doing what I need to do by paying down debt, staying focused on my goals and taking care of my financial business.

Do you remember when you were in first grade and your teacher explained to you that reading is very important and always read the instructions before attempting to open as well as work anything? Not only did they read if they probably they read if they probably said read it carefully and follow instructions. Well today I broke that rule by not paying attention asI tried to open a C.D.

I applied way tooo much pressure and broke the heck out of the case and the disk. That would have been OK but it wasn’t even my disk. Shoot.

If I would have looked at the CD carefully, I would have seen a little button that read push. If only I had followe ddirections.

So, I learn my lesson all over again as I rush to purchase another disk for m friend….read directions people. Instructions are there for a reason. Not only will this keep you from spending unecessary cash but it will also save you the guilt of knowing that you should have known better.

And so it is.

I have a real problem understanding how a father could kill the family that he loved. The California man who killed his wife and children and then turned the gun on himself most have had some mental issues to break so severely under the pressure of he and his wife loosing their jobs. Loosing a job is scary but not serious enough to give up and kill your family and yourself. As I see it when a couple loose their jobs it time to work together, buckle down and make a way for the family to survive not a time to commit murder/suicide. Weren’t their signs that this guy was capable of such and act? Where were the friends and other family members? This person appears to be another child that fell between the cracks. I am willing to bet that he showed some weird behavior as a child which was probably ignored by his parents, teachers, friends and other people in his life. Had these signs not been ignored then he may have been cured and his family and him would still be amongst the living. 

When you think there is a problem with your child or a child that you know please do them a favor and get them some help. Then you want end up seeing them on the news for committing such a gruesome act. 

I am saddened today because I heard that a father and mother both lost their jobs and the man killed his wife, one eight year old daughter and two set of twin boys’ ages five and two. He then called the police to tell them that he had killed his family and then killed himself.  When the police arrived they described this mass murder as one of the most gruesome discoveries that that had ever made. 

This is so sad, I think about the fact that the father took the lives of himself and his family because he and his wife had lost their jobs and he felt that they had no way to turn. There is always a way to turn and that place is within yourself and once you turn within you’ll find answers from seen and unseen places as to what you and your family can do to get financially fit. Know that what’s going on in your lives is only an appearance and things will get better so believe this fact and work to make it so.  

Murder/ suicide are never ways to solve financial are any woes. The way for couples to solve financial challenges is to be confident that things will get better and work together to make this a truth. Do not take the lives of innocent children; give them a chance to live their life. 

We give gifts to others to let them know that we appreciate and/or love them. Gifts should be given from the heart and when given there should be no strings attached. In other words one should not give expecting something in return unless there is an understanding between parties that they exchange gifts. The amount that one pays for a gift does not matter because it is the thought that counts. 

When one gives a gift from the heart they find joy in giving the present. They gave it just to let the other party know that they love and appreciate them. People who enjoy giving still want to give during this economically challenged times. So go ahead and give gifts but remember that it is the amount of money that you spend on a gift is not important it is the fact that you gave someone a gift and it came from your heart.

I get disgusted with people who always talk about what they are going to do. They always have some big thing pending that they are planning. They always talk about what they will do tomorrow, next week, next month, next year or whenever. I’ve always tried to figure out why they do this and I come up with the answer that they are lying to make themselves feel good and to make you think that they are doing so much more than they are presently involved with. Don’t these people know that true friends like people regardless of where they go, who they know, where they have been and so on. They like them because of who they are and how they relate to them. They really need to stop lying because they always get caught in lies and have to keep telling lies to cover up the last lie. This is just wrong and inappropriate behavior that can cause one to loose a true friend. So do yourself and me a favor and stop lying.

As I think about accomplishing dreams, I know that one first have to see whatever it is that they desire in their mind. We think in images all of the time so once you see the picture in your mind that you feel would be good for you then make a decision right away to claim that particular delineation; however, if you do not want what you are seeing in your mind and feel that this image is not for you then let the fantasy go and wait for another photoplay. You get a lot of mental photographs in your mind all of the time but they are all not for you; however you will know when to claim the illustration. You’ll want it real bad and see yourself doing whatever it is that you see. 

You have heard the statement that seeing is believing, In essence this means that you should see your dream and believe in your dream as well as feel worthy of having it. So many people feel that certain things are not for them due to race, creed or national origin so their pursuits are limited. We are requesting that you don’t set limits for yourself and visualize yourself creating whatever it is that you desire, claim it as your own and work to bring it into maturity.

You may not realize it but your attitude makes a big difference in your life. If you have a positive attitude, then you see thongs in an affirmative fashion and if you take a negative approach then you see things just the opposite or unfavorably. It is in my opinion that your attitude determines what happens to you in life. If you combine your positive thinking with right action then the results will be of a positive nature. If you are a person who believes in doom and gloom then that is what you are going to get from life. 

A positive person is always upbeat and speaks positive words and they try to find the good in situations. People who lean toward negativity appear to be antagonistic and gloomy. If you ask a positive person who is really having a situation going on in their life how they feel they will probably answer,”I’m getting better every day and how are you?” On the other hand when you ask the person who appears negative under the same circumstances how they feel they would probably answer, “I feel sick and tired.” And go on to tell you a bunch of bad things happening in their life. Now the person who put out positive energy felt better after they commented and the person who put out negativity probably felt worse than before they said all of that stuff.  

Positive people give off positive energy and in turn it comes back to them for obvious reasons. It is a reflection and what you get back from life in essence is what the universe receives from you. So work at being more positive in your life and you will reap good.

A lot of people, including me, ask for things that they think they want and when the universe allows them to receive it, they really didn’t want it in the first place, they thought that they wanted it. So when you ask for a job, a car, a party at your home, to be left alone, a child, or etc, just make sure that you really want what you’re seeking.

Let me break it down further, a job is advertised in the news paper or online,  you apply just becuase you think that you want it but you’re not sure that you’ll enjoy a career move. You put in your application and forget about it. There’s acall for you to come in for an interview. You’re still not sure but you go to the interview and they love you and offer you the job. You take it but you still weren’t positively sure that you will enjoy it. In two weeks, you realize that you hate the position and you don’t want to go to work every day.

You quit the jobb but look at the time you wated for yourself and the employer. If you had thought it out before you applied, you would have know that you didn’t want it in the first place.

Another example, you get angry at your mate and tell them to “come over totake meout tonight.” So they don’t. You’re notpleased but you get what you asked for and have to live with your discussion.

So, be careful whatyou ask for an only ask for things that you know you want. The reason for this is that you’ll probably get what you requested and when you do, you need to know that this request will make you happy and is in your best interest.

Being born in the south 63 years ago I have seen many injustices in my lifetime that are slowly moving toward justice for all people. For this I am thankful!  I lived through a time when I couldn’t eat in the restaurant of my choice, vote in elections, attend the school of my choice, drink from any water fountain, ride in the front of the bus or use any public wash rooms that I chose, even in an emergency. I have watched these conditions improve as blacks and whites as well as all people have worked together to bring about change. It took a lot of work, sacrifices and even loss of lives to get to us to this place in our life. I think about people such as Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and others who have paved the way for us to break down the walls of prejudice and injustice. 

As a result of the sacrifices that these people made for the cause I can eat in any restaurant that I choose to eat, drink from any water fountain, use any washroom, sit anywhere on a train, bus, boat or plane, attend any school that I choose, and vote for the president of the United States of America only naming a few of the things that I have been empowered to participate over time. 

Yesterday, January 21, 2009 was very special for me as a black woman in that a black man, Barack Obama, has just fulfilled a civil rights leader, Martin Luther King’s, dream for all people that black men and white men would be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. This happened as our nation came together to elect the most qualified person to hold the highest office in the nation. They didn’t care that he was black the only thing that made a difference was that he was the most qualified candidate for the job as president. Now that is a dream fulfilled! I was born at a time that blacks really didn’t know that they could become President of the United States of America we just thought that we could so now I feel so blessed that my children and grand children have seen an African American become president so they know and see that they can do or be anything that their hearts desire. They just have to prepare themselves for the task through education and/or hard work. 

Having a black president also gives a positive reflection of what we as blacks are really like in life. There are as many or more Africans Americans who are like the Obama’s than those who are not.  In closing, we are moving forward as a nation to get rid of the many injustices and prejudices but there is still work for all of us to do, so let’s roll up our sleeves and get ready to work in order that we as a nation can continue to grow in the best interest of all people.
